The moment a Bahraini
security guard was apparently shot in the head, was caught
on
film, it was revealed yesterday. A closed circuit TV tape shows
BJ's nightspot guard Abbas Ali Salman Hadi Al Shakhoori
collapsing.
But nothing on the tape
indicates that he was shot, or shows anyone attacking him, or
anyone immediately reacting to the incident, said Karim Miknas,
general manager of the Seven Leisure group, which owns BJ's.
Mr Al Shakhoori, 27,
collapsed and fell down the steps outside the club at around 2am
on Friday.
He was taken to
Salmaniya Medical Complex, where doctors say they discovered an
entry wound and bullet fragments in his brain.
Sources say Mr Al
Shakhoori is brain dead, but a senior government official said
yesterday that a specialist was being flown in to examine him.
The tape has been
handed over to the police, said Mr Miknas. "You don't see people
reacting. He just falls down, as if he had a heart attack or
something. Nobody even twitches or moves. It's very strange," Mr
Miknas explained.
*Interior Minister
Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, accompanied by Public
Security Chief Abdul Latif Al Zayani, yesterday visited the
alleged shooting site and ordered officials to speed up
investigations. They were received by CID Chief Farooq Al Muawda.
