Men fined for failing to leave premises

THREE people are facing fines for refusing to leave Legends nightclub over the weekend.

About 12.45am on Saturday a 31-year-old man was asked by security staff to leave the venue owing to his intoxication and behaviour.

Police attended a short time later, and the man returned and allegedly started arguing with them.

While he eventually left the scene, the man is to receive an on-the-spot fine for failing to quit licensed premises.

A similar fine is being levied on two other men who were at the nightclub on Saturday night.

About 11.40pm on Saturday a 39-year-old man tried to enter the venue, but was refused because he was intoxicated.

When he became argumentative police were called, and the man was issued with an infringement notice.

A few hours later a 31-year-old man started arguing with security staff when they asked him the leave the nightclub, and police were again called.

They saw the man return to the nightclub, and after an officer spoke to the man he was also given an on-the-spot fine.
