A 24-year-old
security guard has been charged with allegedly assaulting two brothers at a
Clarkson tavern in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The man was
charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of
grievous bodily harm after he allegedly pushed a patron down a set of stairs and
punched him unconscious.
Police say the
first of the victims, a 26-year-old man, had approached security staff of the
Whale and Ale Tavern to allow him back inside to use the toilet.
The patron’s
27-year-old brother then allegedly had an altercation with the security guard,
who allegedly punched the man to the head, causing him to fall unconscious.
The 27-year-old
was admitted to the Joondalup Health Campus and later transferred to Sir Charles
Gairdner Hospital for brain injury treatment
The security
guard will appear in Joondalup Magistrate’s Court today.
