A Bowling Green
man was arrested Wednesday and charged with possessing the
plasma screen television that was stolen Aug. 19 from the St.
Jude Dream Home.
Steven Bradley Eves, 18, 5301 Scottsville Road No. 96, was
charged with receiving stolen property over $300 at 9:12 p.m. at
Pascoe Boulevard and Scottsville Road, according to a Bowling
Green Police Department report.
Police received information through Crime Stoppers tips and
other sources that Eves had the stolen television, according to
the report. Eves was charged after being pulled over in a
vehicle that matched an informant's description.
The St. Jude Dream Home will be raffled Sept. 16, with the
proceeds going to the children's cancer research hospital in
Memphis, Tenn.
Eves is in the Warren County Regional Jail without bond.
Garry Threlkel, 55, of Roundhill died Tuesday at Vanderbilt
University Medical Center in Nashville from injuries he suffered
in a traffic accident Friday in Butler County, according to
Kentucky State Police
Threlkel was driving a 1932 Ford truck at 7:14 a.m. on Ky. 70
when a vehicle driven by Kathy Kirby pulled in front of
Threlkel's truck while making a turn. Shirley Threlkel, 56, of
Roundhill, who was a passenger in the vehicle driven by Garry
Threlkel, remains in critical condition.
The investigation into the accident continues.
Assault - A 31-year-old Bowling Green man hit a bouncer with a
beer bottle after the bouncer punched the man's wife at about
1:30 a.m. Sunday at Utley's Bar and Grill at 427 Park Row,
according to a city police report.
A fight had broken out in the bar and the man who was not
involved attempted to leave. He got into an argument with a
bouncer who prevented him from leaving. His wife was punched by
one bouncer and shoved to the ground by another when she
attempted to stop the argument.
The man began fighting with the bouncers in retaliation,
according to the report. There were no arrests made in the
incident. Several witnesses agreed with the man's version of
what occurred.
Theft - A black mountain bike valued at $300 was stolen between
5:30 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Sunday from a yard in the 1300 block
of College Street, according to a city police report.
Theft - Instruments, electronics and medication, together valued
at $1,045, were reported stolen at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday from
in the 5000 block of Petros Road, according to a Warren County
Sheriff's Department report.
