A 23-year-old man
has appeared in court charged in connection with the shooting
of a nightclub bouncer.
Wayne McNally, of
Ross Road in Dublin 8, is accused of possession of a firearm
with intent to endanger life.
McNally was
arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning by Gardai
investigating the shooting of a doorman at the Red Cow Inn on
the Naas Road in Clondalkin hours earlier.
The bouncer, who
was manning the entrance to Hush nightclub, was shot and injured
in the neck by a man who had been previously refused entry.
Gardai told the
court the accused made no reply when charged at Clondalkin
Station last night.
He was granted
legal aid and there was no application for bail.
The accused has
been remanded in custody to appear in Cloverhill District Court
in a week's time.
