A WOMAN attacked a
bouncer with her handbag after she was thrown out for dancing on
a table.
Rachel Sandra
Jones, of Raglan Court, Barrow, pleaded guilty to two counts of
assault by beating.
The assaults took
place in the early hours of June 1, when Jones had been out with
friends and family on a hen night at Bar Cairo, in Duke Street,
Barrow.
Miss Lisa
O’Loughlin, prosecuting, told Furness magistrates 32-year-old
Jones had been escorted out of the club by doorman Paul McLean.
Miss O’Loughlin
said: “As she attempted to get back in, she became aggressive
and struck Mr McLean in the face with her handbag and she
repeated this on a further
occasion.”
The court then
heard that the victim went inside to contact the police and when
he went back out, Jones spat in his face.
Miss O’Loughlin
said: “She has convictions for violence – she is still subject
to a community and supervision order and in 2006 she was given a
prison sentence.”
Mr Mike Graham,
defending, told magistrates Jones had been unable to remember
the events of the evening due to the amount of alcohol she had
drunk.
He said: “When
she was thrown out she tried to get back in to tell her family
where she was.”
Presiding
magistrate Mr Carl Carter made Jones subject to a three-month
curfew order, requiring her to stay inside her home between 7pm
and 7am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
She was also
ordered to pay compensation of £100 to Mr McLean.
