Police are
investigating the death of a San Francisco man who was fatally
shot by two suspects in a fleeing car early Friday morning.
At approximately
2:15 a.m., Germane Harris, 33, was standing on the corner of
Harrison and 12th streets when the two suspects, driving a
newer-model silver Volkswagen Jetta, pulled up and shot him,
according to police Sgt. Wilfred Williams.
Two women who
were near Harris at the time of the killing were not injured,
Williams said.
After being shot,
Harris unsuccessfully tried to gain entrance into a club at 12th
and Harrison streets, Williams said.
Harris was killed
shortly after completing his shift as a bouncer at the Holy Cow
nightclub on 1535 Folsom St., Williams said.
Police could not
confirm if the slaying was related to an incident that occurred
earlier in the night at Holy Cow, although he did say the
scenario is among a series of possibilities police are
investigating.
Harris’ death
marked San Francisco’s 47th homicide this year. There were 98
homicides in San Francisco last year.
