Nightclub fight triggers drive-by shooting in southwest neighborhood

The Tallahassee Police Department say someone fired shots at a car after a fight between two Tallahassee men and other unidentified men about 2:30 a.m. this morning at Chubby’s Night Club, 1833 W. Tennessee St.

No one was injured.

Officer David McCranie, spokesman for TPD, said the two men, ages 22 and 20, were involved in a fight with the other men at the club. The fight was broken up by the club’s security.

McCranie said the two men, who are friends, left the club’s parking lot together and noticed a car following them.

Shots were fired at the car near Belle Vue Way and Lipona Road. McCranie said the victim noticed bullet holes in his car, which prompted him to call the police.

Details are limited regarding the suspect or suspects. But McCranie said witnesses describe the fleeing car as a black Pontiac Gran Am.
