A Keizer man
was arrested Saturday after he reportedly assaulted two
women in downtown Corvallis.
According to
information from the Corvallis Police Department, at
1:47 a.m., Austin Jade Myers, 21, was arguing with
Ashley Blochowski, 21, of Keizer at the Peacock Bar &
Grill at 125 S.W. Second St.
The argument
continued as the two moved to the parking lot at Madison
Avenue and Southwest First Street. Another woman, Chelsy
Brock, 22, of Keizer, followed them and tried to break
up the fight.
As Brock was
standing between the two, Myers punched her in the face,
causing Brock to stumble and break her ankle, police
said. Myers then punched her again, and she briefly lost
consciousness.
Myers then
reportedly turned his attention to Blochowski, grabbing
her hair and throwing her against a parked vehicle.
Blochowski fell to the ground and Myers held her by her
throat and punched her in the face, police said.
A Peacock
staff member alerted bouncers to the situation, and they
ran outside to help.
"We got out
there, and there was a girl sitting on the ground,
obviously (with) a severe injury on her face," said
Jesse Keller, a Peacock bouncer.
Another
bouncer, Scott Sullivan, already had pulled Myers away
from the women.
Then,
according to Keller, Myers said, "‘I'm not going back to
jail,' and he took off running."
He didn't
get far, as Sullivan and Keller chased him down.
Sullivan tackled Myers outside of Aqua Seafood, and he
and Keller detained Myers for a few minutes, until
police arrived and arrested him.
Further
information on the condition of Brock and Blochowski was
not available.
Myers was
arraigned Monday in Benton County Circuit Court and
entered not guilty pleas to charges of second-degree
assault, two counts of fourth-degree assault and
reckless endangering.
He is in
Benton County jail. His bail was set at $112,000.
