A bouncer at a Pitt Meadows country bar is being investigated for assaulting a patron.

Police said the incident took placed just after midnight Thursday at Rooster’s Country Cabaret, off Lougheed Highway.

A 20-year-old Mission man called RCMP to report he had been beaten up in front of the bar by one of the bouncers.

The man was treated for his injuries at the scene.

Insp. Derren Lench said officers located evidence that backed up the victim’s complaint.

The 34-year-old bouncer, who resides in Surrey, was arrested as a result.

He has since been released, but will appear in court to faces charges in September.
