Man Attacked
Outside New Bern Night Club
A man is attacked
outside a night club and now police are on the hunt for the
suspect and their looking for your help.
New Bern police
say Kevin Sanders stabbed a security guard outside Nikki's Night
Club early Saturday morning as he was leaving the club heading
to his car.
That's when
Sanders according to police attacked the security guard with a
knife cutting him on his neck.
The guard was
taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Here is how the
information was given to WITN by the New Bern Police Department:
POLICE
INVESTIGATE ASSAULT WITH KNIFE
New Bern police
were called to Craven Regional Medical Center on March 14, 2009,
around 2:45 am, when a man who had been cut by a knife went to
the emergency room for treatment.
When officers
arrived they spoke to the victim, Shade Arthur Simpson,
09/13/1969, who said he was attacked while leaving Nikki's Night
Club at the corner of Bern and Queen streets. Simpson, who is a
security guard at the establishment, told officers he was
walking to his car with the club manager, Daniel Bennett, when a
man approached him with a large knife. Simpson received a cut to
his neck. No one else was injured during the incident. Simpson
was treated and released from Craven Regional Medical Center.
Police have
identified a suspect and are looking for Kevin Jason SANDERS,
03/26/1973, of 513 Third Ave. SANDERS is wanted for Assault with
a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury
and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. SANDERS was last seen wearing
a black t-shirt with a white spider on the front.
