Security Guard Fires Shots At Car In Waco Club Parking Lot

The Waco Police Department was investigating Monday after an off-duty Lott police officer, who was working as a security guard at a Waco nightclub, fired on a vehicle that rammed another car as people were getting into it.

Lott Police Officer Jeremiah Schults was working as a security guard at Club Alazan in Waco overnight Saturday when he spotted a customer speeding in the parking lot.

According to Waco police, the driver rammed his vehicle into the other car, as some people were about to get inside.

Schults told Waco police he fired at the vehicle because it looked like the driver was about to run into the car again.

As the driver sped off, Schults followed in his personal car.

Waco police officers assisted in stopping the vehicle at the Garden Apartments on Robinson Drive.

The driver was arrested.

Saul Galleqos was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to stop and render aid, Waco police spokesman Steve Anderson said Monday.

No one was hurt.

Lott Police Chief Daryl Allen said an investigation is underway to make sure the officer was in compliance with the department’s policies.
