Woman Shot in Front of
Nightclub
Police say a woman
was sitting in her car when she was hit with a stray bullet from
a fight outside the Sacramento nightclub ‘The Library'.
Sacramento police investigators are
now
searching for the man responsible.
The incident took place just before 1 a.m. Wednesday at 'The
Library' on Folsom Boulevard. Security officers at the club say
there were about 150 people inside, mostly college students,
when a man in his 20's got into a fight with a group of people.
They were all asked to leave and the altercation spilled
outside.
Police officers say the man took out a hand gun and opened fire.
A stray bullet struck the woman sitting in her car about 25
yards away. Sgt. Norm Leong with the Sacramento Police
Department says the victim was just in the wrong place at the
wrong time and that she had nothing to do with the altercation.
She was apparently preparing to leave for the evening.
The woman was shot in the neck and is in grave condition at a
local hospital.
Police believe the suspect is in his early 20's with
shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was wearing a polo-shirt. He was
seen heading west-bound from the location in a dark 4-door
Cadillac.
The 7200 block of Folsom Boulevard was closed for the
investigation but reopened just after 6:30 a.m.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sacramento Police
Department at (916) 732-0100.
