Laura-Mary Carter
Attacked By Bouncer
Blood Red Shoes singer Laura-Mary
Carter was involved in a fight with a bouncer following a show in
Manchester last week (May 24th).
The
altercation occurred backstage after the bouncer thought that Carter
– who was carrying a bottle of wine – was underage.
In a statement the
singer said: “I left the backstage area carrying a bottle of wine to
go and watch Pull Tiger Tail. The next thing I knew a bouncer
grabbed my neck from behind and started to drag me out of the venue.
When we got to the stairs he tackled me in a Johnny Wilkinson way
and I fell and hit my head on the stairs and slashed my arm open.”
Carter was saved from
the ordeal by The Rumble Strips lead singer, Charlie Waller, whose
band were also playing the same venue. She added that she would
“make Charlie an apple pie for being such a hero.”
The bouncer who was
involved in the incident has since been sacked.
