NIGHTCLUB TO
OPEN FOR UNDER-17S
Teenagers can attend a new club night
specifically for under-age party people.
Sugarfix
aims to give 13 to 17-year-olds a club experience - without
alcohol, cigarettes, violence, or inappropriate behaviour.
The night, which starting this week will run every Sunday from
7pm to 10pm at the Cell in Mint Street, Lincoln, is the idea of
city bar owner Andy Ellis.
The 26-year-old, who runs Kind
Bar in High Street, Lincoln, said their was a huge demand for
decent evening entertainment for teenagers.
"Most teenagers are drawn to city centre bars and clubs well
before they are old enough to frequent them," he said.
"They have nowhere for their age group where they congregate in
large numbers and dance to music they actually like.
"As a result they may try to get into alcohol-serving
establishments before they should. And when they can't they
often up hanging around in groups on the streets drinking."
Mr Ellis said safety and security was paramount.
"Everyone will be searched on entry to Sugarfix. Cigarettes,
alcohol or anything which could potentially harm another
individual will be confiscated."
Mr Ellis said every event will be monitored on CCTV and by venue
security.
Mr Ellis is inviting parents to call him to discuss any concerns
they may have: 07851266808.
