Bloomington woman reports rape

A Bloomington woman contacted the Bloomington Police Department early Wednesday morning after she was allegedly raped.

The victim, a 22-year-old woman, told police that she met her alleged attacker on MySpace and decided to meet him for dinner, BPD Sgt. Jeff Canada said, reading from a police report. The victim said the suspect did not want to drive home, so she directed him to a Motel 6.

The victim said she was raped in the suspect’s hotel room. She told police the suspect was drinking before the rape occurred.

After the rape, the victim went to the hospital immediately for examination, Canada said. She had abrasions to her face and elbow.

Officers were unable to locate the suspect or his vehicle.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to call Det. Rob Shrake at 349-4477.
